Treating waste water isn't something the average person thinks about on a day-to-day basis, but the process is critical to the health and well being of our environment. It assures us that human waste is properly broken down and treated so that we can continue to enjoy our clean water sources.

While this New York State waste water treatment plant was effectively treating human waste, it found that it needed to take a pro-active approach to the waste that existed in its own electrical networks. Enter Hershey Energy Systems and our power quality system.

The scope of this project encompassed 3 major processing facilities which were each outfitted with a mainframe system as well as the necessary satellite units. After 5 months of operation, the chief plant supervisor completed a study indicating that the largest of the three facilities was now treating over 150% more waste without any increase in electrical usage.

This savings in electrical usage translated into a projected annual savings in the six figures for the three facilities. This savings was more than twice our original guarantee, and even better than the maximum savings we had projected. At this rate, the system would pay for itself in just over 1.5 years.

Two years after the initial installation, the savings generated by this system have more than paid for itself. The system continues to provide superior power quality to all three processing facilities and the operating savings now flow right into the company's bottom line.
